WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL SHINDIG WEBSITE (as if there'd be an unofficial website!) Shindig are a Norfolk barn dance and ceilidh band We hope that you enjoy your time surfing and that you drop us a line. To do this go to the how to book us section. We play jigs, polkas, waltzs, slip jigs, hornpipes, hopsteps and reels. These are mostly English tunes, but you can't beat a good tune
Public gigs 2009:(Nearly all our dances are private functions)
What people have said about us recently (random list!): 20.11.08: Card received from Nicki & Antony, who contacted us after looking at our website from the South Pacific(!) "A huge thanks for making our wedding go with a bang. The ceilidh was excellent and everyone has commented on what fun they had. A particularly big thanks for including our young guests in your band - they had a ball! So glad we found you." March 2009: email from Helen in Downham Market "I just wanted to thank you personally for playing at our event, we had a really brilliant evening! Your band were brilliant - we have done a fair few ceilidhs and you were the best we have heard for a very long time and if we ever need to book a band for something similar we will be coming to you. We were also grateful to you all for accommodating our specific requests." September 2008: Card from Beth and Steve "Just wanted to thank you for helping to make our wedding a truly fabulous day. Our guests loved the dancing and it was great fun. Your kindness in letting us borrow the speakers (for the background music afterwards) was also much appreciated." January 2009: card from Linda from Great Yarmouth "Just a note of thanks for a wonderful evening's entertainment at my daughter's wedding. I just want to say how much everyone enjoyed the music and dancing, we have had some very nice comments from everyone as it was so different from the norm. The children especially enjoyed being involved." July 2007: letter from Anne in Norwich "I just wanted to thank you and the band properly for playing at the wedding. We had such a good day and the dancing helped bring everyone together, aged 7-81, from USA, Czech Republic and UK, and hearing and deaf and partially sighted. We had such laughs when we got in muddles about where to go and what to do that my ribs ached! Your caller was excellent." October 2007: letter from Jenny from Worlingworth "Can I please ask you to pass on to all the members of Shindig my grateful thanks for last night's ceilidh? I speak on behalf of the whole WI Combined Arts committee when I say that you exceeded all our expectations, everybody had a really great time and you only have yourselvesto blame if we ask you to come back again!"
