Annual International Conference

Our conference has been held annually since 1975 and now has a regular attendance of over 200 delegates. There are lectures from international speakers, debates, workshops, posters, pharmacist oral presentations, sales stands and a medical exhibition. Prizes are awarded for the best posters and oral presentations. It is usually held on the first or second full weekend in October. The conference is now supported by unconditional educational grants from various companies. For more details contact:

UKPPG Patient Information leaflets

These popular easy to read, A4 size leaflets are available on CD-ROM for a range of drugs (tricyclics, SSRIs, MAOIs, moclobemide, antipsychotics, lithium, clozapine, olanzapine, risperidone, carbamazepine, sodium valproate, beta-blockers, benzodiazepines and anticholinergics). The range has been extended recently. Details from Pharmacy, Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich NR6 5BE, fax 01603-421365, or visit our resources page.

Resources

As well as the patient information leaflets, a number of other support products are available e.g. Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines, Psychotropic Drug Directory 2003/04, computer programmes etc. Visit www.nwmhp.nhs.uk/pharmacy.

Members

One of the finest resources of the UKPPG is of course its members. e.g. the facility to network, ask and give advice, share ideas etc. A membership list is available to members on request. Strength in numbers. A comprehensive members activities survey was published in 1999, giving details of mental health pharmacy services, personalities involved, activities carried out etc. This has become a hugely useful resource for members. Our website will be developed over the next few years to have many more support documents. Examples can be found by clicking here. An e-mail discussion group now is in full swing.
