SERVICE TO: MH5 - ADULT PSYCHIATRY – Addictions: In-patient
SERVICES PROVIDED: XXXXX ward is visited on a weekly basis by a clinical pharmacist and receives a weekly stock top-up service from a pharmacy technician. A prescription chart has been designed specifically for use on this unit. Prescribing protocols have been devised for detoxification programmes; adherence to these is monitored and assessed by the clinical pharmacist
OUTCOMES: The safe, effective and economic use of drugs. An efficient, comprehensive and timely supply service.
SERVICE TO: MH6 - COMMUNITY ADULT PSYCHIATRY – Addictions: XXXX HOUSE (ALCOHOL) and XXXX HOUSE (DRUG)
SERVICES PROVIDED:
- ALCOHOL - Services to this unit are advisory
- DRUG - Ealing Hospital pharmacy dispenses lofexidine detoxification regimes on a daily basis for suitable clients. FP10 (HP) ad prescribing is mainly for methadone treatment.
OUTCOMES: The most cost-effective use of drugs budget.
